Genesis seems to clearly say that God knows good and evil. This has led to wars and death ever since.

Genesis 3:5 KJV

Genesis 3:22 KJV

HERE IS THE TEXT OF THE VIDEO

Hey, how you doing? I just wanted to share with you some things in defense of our loving heavenly father. So you could say this is apologetics.

My name is Den …Dennis Rhodes. I’m an Australian and a brother in Christ. And during long battles in my life within myself, as we all go through, the Lord has been separating out in my understanding the tares that have been sewn in my understanding. And he’s been doing that by illuminating things in the scriptures. some things revealed through other uh teachers of the word and some things directly to me. And one of these things I want us to consider as you see on my blog here which is uh Be in Christ… be in Christ.org.(no loner running)

I’d like you to consider this question of does God know good and evil as Genesis chapter 3 verse 5 and verse 22 tells us?

So immediately you are thinking well this man is um saying ‘there’s errors in the scriptures’. So look, unless you are, you know, genuinely want to seek God for yourself, you’re not going to be open to anything I have to say.

It’s as simple as that. I love the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my Lord and Savior. I was born again in 1989 through a marriage breakdown. I cried out to God. I sensed his presence come around me in my.. our bedroom that night, April 20th, 1989. And uh I was filled with the Holy Spirit a few weeks later. And uh I’ve always been ,,since then,, hungry to know the Lord Jesus Christ, to know the Father as he is. I don’t take people’s word for it. Um, but I found that a lot of the things that I believed had come through my culture, the western culture of what we think we know about God and the afterlife and um, so I’m I’m aware that we all have bias and we all are affected by the things in our life of how we see things. And so the translators of the scriptures were no different.

Men like St. Jerome and Augustine were only human just like you and me and they have influenced our Bibles today in such a way that would shock you with only a few little insertions in the scriptures way back there in the garden which is the book of beginnings and these things affect us today.

So you can see I have the verse here with the Strong’s numbers in green above it. And this is verse 22, chapter 3 of Genesis in the King James version.

Behold, the man is become as one of us to know good and evil.

So before we look at that, I’d like to uh draw your attention to Genesis 3:5, if I will, if I may. So I’ll just go off the screen. Genesis 3:5 in the King James version tells us uh speaking from the serpent’s mouth.

“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof… (This is eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil)…. “then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods”. (Lowerase g) knowing good and evil.

So God knows you will be as gods. They’ve decided to leave it as a lowercase “g” because as you know in the Hebrew there is no um upper and lower case. So it’s up to the translator to decide how to translate that Hebrew word there which is uh Strong’s number 430.. which is “Elohim”. and and also here Elohim.

So they translate it as God meaning the supreme God our father.

“For God (yada = knows = yada) that in the day ye eat thereof then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods”.

But in the New King James here and the New International, the American Standard Version and the Living Bible, very popular versions, they have decided to translate Elohim with a capital G here.

And you will be like God knowing good and evil.

And you’ll be like God, knowing good and evil.

You shall be as God knowing good and evil.

And God knows very well that the instant you eat it will become like him lowercase g. So it’s ambiguous what the living Bible is saying here. You’ll become like him for your eyes will be opened.

So.. Like who? like God or like an angel? Which is what this signifies in the King James.

Ye shall be as god’s, knowing good and evil. Interesting.

So, what is it?

Does God know good and evil?

Was the serpent um telling us the truth? Was the serpent lying?

You’ll be like God, knowing good and evil, or you’ll be like me, Satan was saying, knowing good and evil. And that’s what I believe.

I believe that Satan was saying, you’ll be like me, knowing good and evil.

So, what happened down in verse 22? Let me just have a look here. What happened down in verse 22?

I’ll put myself over there(of the screen).

Gen 3:22

So in these popular versions in the King James version and the Lord God said,

“Behold, the man is become as one of us, one of us to know good and evil.” And in the other versions follow suit.

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man had become like one of us.

“The man has be now become like one of us”

And Jehovah God said, “Behold, the man has become as one of us.”

And the Living Bible, then the Lord said, “Now that the man has become as we are, knowing good and bad, knowing good from bad, if he eats, what if he eats the fruit of the tree of life and lives forever?

So all of these versions including the King James version have here that they believed verse five. They believed verse five which was saying that God um knows good and evil. That Satan was saying God knows you’ll be like him knowing good and evil.

And even though the King James had translated it in verse five saying that um a lowercase g, “God knows in the day you eat of it, you’ll become like gods”.. ‘You’ll be made like gods’. These verses (in other versions) here show that all the translators believe the lie of the devil that you’ll become like God who knows good and evil.

So is that the case? Does God know good and evil? So to look at this, you need to look at the Hebrew there for that verse. This is Genesis 3, the King James version with Strong’s numbers above them in green. And so if you look at verse 5 here, there’s verse 5. For God, that’s Elohim. I’ll show you.

Hallelujah. So

Elohim,

god’s in the ordinary sense, plural of

it’s the plural of Elohim is the plural of Elohim,

a deity or the deity. god in King James is used as either one. King James uses it either as God with a uppercase G or a lowercase g.

So the word here in the – in the verse – in verse five – and throughout in verse 5, “for God doth know, Elohim doth know. And that word there is: yada

yada to know. And it’s not just mental knowledge. It’s a knowing. And here in verse, in Genesis 3:7, of course,

they knew yada that they were naked. All right? They knew they were naked. And then if you go into chapter 4, you’ll see that the same word is used when Adam knew his wife Eve. He had intercourse with his wife. So he became one with his wife through that knowing… through the knowing.. yada… and you’ll see here that it also means ‘to know a person carnally’. So it’s through sexual union. You know your husband, you know your wife, you become one with them through that deep knowing.

And so the implication is that to know good and evil, you become one with evil. It’s actually speaking of your nature. You’re someone who is good and you’re someone who is evil. And so the serpent was accusing God, putting into Eve’s mind that God is good and evil and you become like him. Not just knowing it, but one with it.. that God is good and God is evil. And this is a incredible blasphemous thing, an assertion that God is both good and evil.

Psalm 119 verse 68 tells us, “You are good and do good. Teach me your statutes.” You are good and do good. So, good here is a noun and good here is a verb. Good is God and he does good. And that’s what the psalmist tells us. God is good. He’s not good and evil. He wanted them to eat of the tree of life because he is the truth, the way, and the life. He is all good, all through. There is no shadow in God. There is no evil in God. And Satan was asserting to them that God is both good and evil.

Verse 5, “for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as god’s as god’s… Lowercase g, knowing good and evil. So down in verse 22,

where is it? Hard to find in this format. There it is. Down here.

And the Lord God said.. Elohim.Uh this is uh Jehovah here or Yahweh if you like to say the unpronouncable name. So here we are taking a bit of time. H3068 Yehovah self-existed or eternal.

So the Lord God said in verse 22, “behold the man is become as one…” So this word here is the word:

echad: “a numeral.. from H258.. properly: united, that is, one.” So echad is in Deuteronomy 6:4. “Hear O Israel the Lord thy God is one God. ECHAD Jehovah –ECHAD. He is one God.

And so “man is become as one“… So that’s this word here echad… (then)”of us”. So there is no justification for them to put in the words “of us”. I want you to see that because this is why I’m making this video.

I know it’s scary because you love the Bible and I love the Bible. But Jerome was only a human and he had a bias.

This word here as we saw H3045 is the word ‘yada: to know, yada.

So man is become… behold the man yada… man has become one knowing good and evil. .Man is become one knowing good and evil

” of us” – Shouldn’t be in there! It shouldn’t be there! It’s why I wrote in my blog.

And the Lord God said, “Behold, the man is become one of us to know good and evil.” Now, it simply says, “Man is become one, knowing good and evil.”

In other words man became like Satan. So God banished them from the garden lest they stay like him for the ages. There is no justification. None. Let me make this bigger for you so you will see what I’m on about.

There is no justification in the Hebrew text for saying “of us”. “Man is become as one of us”. No!! Man is become one knowing good and evil. That’s why God didn’t want them to eat from it because that would ,that would, the fall was that they became like Lucifer.

They became like a fallen angel knowing good and evil. And so they were banished from the garden. “Man has become like one of us?. No! No justification at all for that being in there.

It should be placed.. the yada(H259 IN TOP LINE IN ABOVE PIC) should be placed above the words “to know” which is what yada means. So here they’ve got it sneakily over on us. No, it should be here “to know“-(in video I point to those words in reference to the H259 YADA). There’s no justification for it.

And so what happens is this is a tare sewn at the very beginning.. defining the nature of God as one who knows good and evil and defining man as one who knows good and evil. You become like God. And so the God that you worship, the God you believe in is what you will be like. And I have personally, perhaps you can relate, I’ve had this incredible internal struggle as God is attempting to deliver me from this tare buried deep inside that’s accusing God of being evil.

And it will come out(show itself) when I fail. It will come out as self accusation against me that I’m evil. and I’ll cry to God. Except the problem is I also deep down believe God is evil. Not just because of this verse, but because of the working of the energy, the energy of Satan from that whole mindset.. from before I became a believer.. and right through.. the the accuser constantly accuses God that he is evil, that he can’t be trusted because he has this other side and we call it holiness in the church and we call it his judgment. We call it his wrath.

And yet God is good and he is love and he is life and he is truth. He does not know evil.

Satan has planted that tare in the hearts of the church and God is wanting it to be pulled up by the roots that we will come to finally see that our God is good and there is no variableness nor shadow of turning in him!! That we can trust him! That we can safely rest in his arms because he will in no wise cast us out.

He cast Adam and Eve out of the garden in his great mercy because they had now become like Lucifer the devil. And he didn’t want them to eat from life and have this permanent battle of light and darkness going on inside of them. Instead, he wanted them to have his nature restored to them. And so he sent forth his son to die on the cross and take you and I to the cross and take that whole lie of the devil to the cross and destroyed it on the cross.

Having overcome it by his death and resurrection, he offers you a new life, a perfect whole loving nature which is His own nature that only knows good because he is good and he does good. And that friend is who you are today.

You do not have two natures warring between each other inside of you.

You only have the nature of your Father Who is Good. And everything else is tied back to this horrible tare put in there in Genesis 3 22 saying that man become as one of us. No!! “Of us” should not be there!!

Man had become one knowing good and evil. He’d become like the enemy. Therefore, God drove him out of the garden. Hallelujah. And as long as you believe that God is good and evil, as long as you believe you have two natures within you, you will not be able to eat of the tree of life(Jesus) for long.

The accuser in you will rise up and accuse you of evil and take you out and banish you from the garden. And you’ll be outside again moaning over your sin which is all forgiven, moaning over your two natures(which He crucified already for you) which are at war struggling and you will constantly be pushed outside the garden where God is weeps for you to come in.

And it’s this tare that is planted in the scripture by the enemy through Jerome that needs to be erased completely from your mind and your heart.

That your Father is already in the garden drawing you in. That’s really actually where you are. In actual fact, you are already in the holy of holies. You are already within life. But in our mind because of this tare, the accuser keeps us outside trying to get in. You’re already in!! You’re already in.

Now, I forgive Jerome, a blessed brother whose heart was after God. And yet through whatever in his life, he was embittered and he had, he was accused by the enemy. And he has inserted this monstrous lie here which has been followed all the way through by the translators of all the modern versions. We have not become like God knowing good and evil cuz God does not know good and evil. We’ve become like the enemy. And yet God has already dealt with that. I hope you take that up and meditate upon it because it will set you free.

God wants you to be able to stay in his presence. The accuser wants to remove you from the presence you’re already in. The accuser wants to say to accuse you to pull you out. He wants to accuse you to pull you out. So God drove them out because because of this consciousness of sin, consciousness of good and evil.

God has forgiven you all trespasses. Has removed all your sins from you. He’s removed all your iniquities from you. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed them from you? He put you to death. He put you to death and gave you a new life. The very life of Jesus, which is a good life, the only life there is. There’s no evil in him.

May God give me the grace to fully preach this because I know that he is hitting on it. I know that he wants to set the church free. Praise the name of Jesus. Hallelujah.
