I want to share and encourage you that just being you is enough a lot of times as Christians we think that we’ve got to be something else other than what we are we struggle we talk about the flesh the old man and we long to be different than what we are and I think that comes out of a an ignorance of what the cross has done of what the resurrection has accomplished for us because the Lord knows that we cannot be like him in and of ourself as I’ve shared in the last video that uh we have access to the father via the spirit of God by one spirit we have access and when Paul said that in Ephesians 2 that we have access to the father through one spirit he was talking about Jew and Gentile now can approach God and have access to him and it’s through the Holy Spirit so when you are born again and you’ve received the spirit of God God has placed you inside of the spirit inside of Jesus Christ himself and Jesus himself lives inside of the father constantly these three are one John wrote in his letter so Jesus is not what Augustine said jesus is not God the Son God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit there’s no such thing that came out of Augustine’s reasoning Jesus is not God in and of himself that’s why he said in John chapter 5 “Of my own self I can do nothing if he was God on his own he could do anything but of his own self I can do no nothing.” It’s the father it’s the father who gives me these works it’s the father who gives me these words if you’ve seen me you’ve seen the father because it’s the father in Jesus living the life when they said good teacher and he said who are you calling good there is no one good but God. Jesus is not God the son.. he’s the son of God.. and there’s a huge difference. and calling him God the Son and imagining that he has power of his own god power of his own it sets us up for trouble the whole church and the whole world the superhuman superhero sort of thing but no Jesus is meek and lowly of heart jesus can do nothing of himself it’s all the father so this is the way we were created to contain the life of another so that God would come and dwell in us and he does and live our life with us god is living as you he’s living as me all our sins are already forgiven because of the cross because of Jesus sacrifice and Jesus himself has come to live in us and become us this is what Paul was talking about in Galatians 2 when he said “I have been crucified with Christ.” It’s no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me and that’s literal christ now lives in me it’s no longer I that live it’s Christ living in me and the life that I now live in the flesh what does he mean the life that I now live when he just said that I no longer live but it’s Christ that lives in me what does he mean he means that the I that now lives is Christ it’s Jesus and you joined together as one in your spirit and so our mind is being renewed to that spirit reality of who we are christ and I Jesus Christ is not separated because Jesus Christ himself lives in you by the [Music] spirit so the eye that now lives in this body is Jesus Christ and I joined together as one
so that we can also say if you’ve seen me you’ve seen Jesus and Jesus is in the father always so it’s if you’ve seen me you’ve seen the father you’ve seen God because Paul said for us there is only one God the father and one lord Jesus Christ [Music] so when we we get all tangled up with if Jesus is God or not yes Jesus is God only inside the father who is God but there’s no such thing as a Jesus separated from the father no such thing at no time was he ever separated from the father despite what theologians have told you even re read 2 Corinthians 5:19 how God was in Christ Jesus on the cross jesus didn’t go to the cross and get separated and the father had to turn his back from Jesus and not look at his grotesque sinful son who took all our sin no Paul says how God the Father was in Christ inside of Jesus Christ on the cross reconciling the world to himself at no time has Jesus ever been separated from his father and neither are we because Jesus dwells in us we’re always having access to the father and so as much as we have Jesus in us Jesus has us in him in us we are in him while he is in us and what that means is Jesus has fully reconciled everything about you to himself jesus has fully reconciled brought into harmony everything about you to himself within you so all of your attributes all of your quirks and funny ways all of your weaknesses all of you Jesus has brought into rec to reconcile all of that to himself he’s taken you to be his own just the same way as you take your wife and she takes her husband to be her beloved you you join together to become one jesus has taken you to become one with himself so despite all of what you think is no good about yourself Jesus already knows that already knew that and was already willing to take everything about you to be inside of him that he might shine through every part of you especially the parts you don’t like that Jesus would shine through your weaknesses your foibless your failings your quirks your strange habits the way you walk the way you talk the things you like jesus shines through you while you just be you god didn’t save you so you would somehow try to change to be like Jesus god saved you and brought you to himself knowing that you were you and he accepts you in the beloved because he’s not expecting you to come up with the fruit so he put his son in you married him to you married you to him so that the two are now one and this is all happening inside of you and as we renew our mind of the reality of our union and our oneness inside of Jesus we rest in him and it’s a wonder you can be yourself religious spirits will try to get you to um try harder to be different than what you are because you imagine you’re not pleasing to God but you’re looking at your performance it’s the one who lives in you who lives with you who lives as you inside who is the one who is pleasing who is the one who bears the fruit who is the one who dwells inside the father and he is happy to bring you into the father’s house in real time constantly that’s where you live in the holy of holies is where we live it’s all the work of Jesus our forerunner who went there before us and has brought us in there with him he joined us it’s like a prince the king has a son and he arranges a marriage for his son and he finds a suitable bride for his son you and me and so his son woos her you and me to himself and you get born again and you you get married to Jesus betroved to your husband and he takes you into the bridal chamber in your heart and in that place you meet the father the the procreator the originator of life and God breathes his son and his life into you in that union of marriage with Jesus and Jesus takes you in to see the father all the time you’re dwelling in him you’re dwelling in him you’re living in him and it’s all because you’re in union with Jesus you don’t have to try to become more holy you can’t become more holy than the one who lives in you who is your holiness he is your righteousness according to 1 Corinthians 1:30 jesus is everything you need so we don’t have to try to become any different and we don’t have to beat ourselves up we don’t have to measure up to some religious idea that uh we might have or that our church has just be yourself be yourself obviously if you’re if you are habitually uh sinning you know practicing any one of those nine things Paul listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and you’re stuck in that maybe you’ve been that way for years you know you read the list it’s not just homosexuality it’s other things like idolatry covetousness drunkenness and and fornication and uh revalries partying a whole host of things basically living according to the flesh if you are living in all of that then you need to surrender to the Holy Spirit and ask him to deliver you get around brothers and sisters who are filled with the spirit to deliver you and that will show that you are repentant and that you want to be free of these things because the truth about you is you are a child of God and God has brought you into his son that you would walk with Jesus in perfect union so as you do that all those other things will fall away they will fall away it’s the renewing of the mind that does a does it more than anything else more than any deliverance can do so I want you to be encouraged to be yourself that Jesus lives in you loving you all the way and bringing you into his father constantly hallelujah
